Thirty-eight years on the east rift
808 Orchids Kalapana LLC is a Hawaiian orchid farm in Kalapana, on the Big Island. The farm has grown orchids commercially since 1987 — celebrating 38 years of growing for both collectors and the wholesale trade: garden centers, botanical gardens, orchid shows and greenhouses.
In December 2025 Denise Hauanio, a Hawaiian native with deep local roots, and her husband Les took over from founders John & Mindi Clark — carrying forward the farm's breeding of house cultivars named for the land: Kalapana Life, Sunny Kalapana, Kalapana Nights. Imua Kākou — we move forward together.
